One of the attendees of Saturday's Worldwide Buddhist Encouragement Meeting asked "Jamie, do you feel like it's gotten harder to concentrate these days while chanting? I used to be able to really focus and now, with all the news and everything that's going on, it feels harder and harder to chant."

We've all had moments when we've felt this way.

Here are:
4 Keys to
reignite your ability to Chant:

1.We need to put our phones in the other room. I know, I know. It's not easy. But if we want to win in life we need to do it.

2. We need to reconnect to our desires. Make ourselves a new list. reignite our hopes and passions. THis can be hard for some of us. We've been disappointed so many times before. But the purpose of our faith is to be happy, and we are Buddhas who believe that "Earthly Desires are Enlightenment!"
We can write a Powerprayer for ourselves. One of my meetings may be geared to exactly this. Writing our own PowerPrayers. What are the elements? Try starting by addressing your own life.

PowerPrayer Basics:
Start with
"LIFE! This is what I want to accomplish!"
And if you want to start feeling more hopeful you can write: "I'm determined to feel HOPE around __________. Bring back that feeling of hope!"
Or you can begin to list what your determinations are.
Such as:  "I'm determined to chant x amount of time a day."
to break through in__________
and I'll know when I've broken through when__________!"

I'll delve more into writing PowerPrayers, and focus some of my WOrldwide Buddhist Encouragement Meetings on this!

3. Start in small increments. Say to yourself "I'm going to chant 5 minutes of absolutely uninterrupted Daimoku. I'm not going to get up for water, I'm not going to use the bathroom, or check Facebook. No. For this 5 minutes, I will be glued to the Gohonzon! And when I do that 5 minutes I go for another, and another, and then I can reach my goals. Start small. And go for it!

4. Remember you are not alone. As you chant, BILLIONS OF BUDDHAS (that are already in your life) are joining us when we chant. The first prayer I have in the morning is to greet those Buddhas with my life, Buddha to Buddha. It feels so good.

Now more than ever we need to overcome our obstacles to chanting. For ourselves, for our country and for our world!

4 Ways to Make This Historic Moment One You'll NEVER forget!

Ok, so that's a picture from a time when we went out and socialized. We danced and met new people! I know we can't do that now, but I look so happy, I just had to post it!

I miss those times. I really do.
Yet a part of me feels that we've been given a gift.
We've all entered a cocoon, separately, and together.
And I'll tell you sometimes I really wish I'd already met the man I am so hoping to meet...the humorous, light-hearted, kind and generous Buddhist! I am taking applications :).

But for now, I get to chant a lot and I'm always deepening my mastery of Clinical EFT Tapping as a Certified Practitioner. I'm also learning my Native American flute and launching some new programs.

And I have
4 Tips to making this Historic Moment One You'll Never Forget

You know what the first 3 are ABC. Chanting ABUNDANT Daimoku. Studying at least 20 minutes a day. Connecting with members, friends, family and new Shakubuku,

The 4th KEY: WRITE

Remember the power of writing to make your dreams come true.
I ask my new clients to write down a snapshot of where they are before they begin working with me. What are their frustrations, what do they want to change? And then, make a list of what they want and date it.

So I suggest the same to you for this Historic Time!
May 3rd is 2 weeks from today!

Take this time to make Hon-nin-myo
(from this moment forth)
resound in your life. This is your opportunity.

Our opportunity! How many people can you introduce? Put that on your list!

I am chanting for you all. If you want, you can send me your list and I will chant for you too!
Email it to

I'm getting a lot of requests for guidance, and I do not give personal guidance.
If you want some encouragement, come to my weekly meetings. There's one tomorrow ~

Monday morning at 10:00 am Eastern time.
Here's a time converter for you:

and here's a link to the meeting tomorrow:

Meeting ID: 673 203 768

Invite your shakubuku - these are really encouraging meetings!

And as I mentioned several times, I do not give guidance, but I can, if time permits provide encouragement. Because my time is in such demand, there is an investment for meeting with me on zoom. Please keep that in mind. I'm totally dedicated to your success, and that's why I write this blog.
Sending much love! Jamie

Lighting the Lamp of Hope From St. Pete Beach Florida!

                               Hello, my friends!

I hope this blogpost finds you enthralled with your life and excited about the opportunities in front of you. And if you're NOT feeling that way, I hope this post serves to inspire you and light your way.

We have such an opportunity right now in the time that has been given us to go within.

I'm overflowing with appreciation for my life right now. Through my determination and hard work, I've mastered the ability to help people release their toxic emotions and experience a level of happiness they just couldn't feel before.

I'm on fire with this lovely cocoon we find ourselves in. Every morning I chant with all my might to have my life force flowing so strongly that there's no limit to the number of people I can inspire through my life. Every morning I chant for every reader (that means you!) to be infused with hope, with light, and with life.

If you're needing a nudge to get your mojo back remember May third is right around the corner and now's the time to take out your pen and write your determinations.

Here's a PowerPrayer Determination I wrote for you as a sample, and tool you can use.

PowerPrayer Towards May third!
As you're chanting you may bring these thoughts of yours to mind.
Feel free to share, with as your source.

I am determined that by May third I will see ____________in my life. I will have changed my sadness to joy, my hopelessness to hope, my fear to determination. I am determined to show actual proof of this practice in every way and inspire those around me.

I am determined to show victory so I can be a living example of someone who chants nam-myoho-renge-kyo and inspires others! I'm determined to raise my life condition and do my human revolution now!

And you can write it out as if the day has already arrived, like this:
It's May 3rd. I'm so grateful that I have accomplished these things_______________________I'm so happy that_________________________________ and I've broken through to ___________________________.

I am chanting for these people:____________________
And chanting for all people to raise their life conditions during this time.
I'm chanting for the safety and protection of all of life.
I'm chanting for the Shoten Zenjin, protective functions in life to end suffering and unite the people of the world in love and hope.
Thank you!

4 ways to Activate your Super-Buddha Powers! Please share!

There's never been a better time to access your SuperPowers as a Buddha!

1: Daimoku, Daimoku, Daimoku

I know you know! But we all need encouragement, don't we? NOW is the time to do it. Chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo for at least an hour if you can, and two if you really want to feel the embrace of all the Buddhas and Boddhisatvas of the universe! With this vibrational rhythm we raise our life conditions and raise the life condition of the whole planet! We need that now, right? ! I'm considering hosting chanting sessions every day via YouTube or Zoom. Let me know if this intrigues you.

I'm making sure to chant a solid hour of Daimoku. With my phone OFF. Why? Because I have to.

If I don't,  I'll get caught up in the swirl of worrying about what we're going through, feeling very alone, and eating too much. But NO darn it. I do not have to be sucked into that unhappiness because I have Super Buddha Powers and so do you! So does everyone, only they don't all know it yet.

2. Study, Study Study!
Chant to understand the writings of Nichiren Daishonin and Daisaku Ikeda. Lately, every time I pick up an SGI publication I feel as if Sensei is writing directly to me. Chant to feel and live the guidance you get through studying.

3. Let's Clean our Altars today!

Our altars are a representation of our precious lives. Have we given our lives some love? Are our altars cluttered with too many distracting things? Are they dusty? Is something hanging above your altar?

Time to take another look and treat yourself to the benefits of a clean uncluttered altar, and a clean, uncluttered life! Make it sparkle! Give it some new greens, or put a plant nearby. Make it so that when you look at your altar your heart rises.
Is your altar too low? If it is, raise it up so that you are looking up into it, not down into it. Your life will thank you for this! And then rouse up a fresh determination to chant more Daimoku, study more, and show actual proof through your life. Let's retake our vows as the Buddha to show rid the world of suffering by ridding our own lives of suffering first!

4. Connect with your fellow members and encourage them! Write a Fresh Determination or PowerPrayer towards May third!

May 3rd is 25 days away. What can you accomplish before then?

How can you encourage others?

What dream can you take out and dust off?
What can you learn?
What can the power of your Daimoku bring forth?
It's wonderful and powerful to have a date to center on!

10 tips for Chanting Joyfully for Longer Times !

You can receive these posts right in your inbox
by putting  your email in the box to the right.

Here we are, at our collective crucial moment! Let's roar like lions together! I'm about to chant for an hour, then I'm hosting a virtual zoom meeting for my blog readers and their friends at this link at 10:00 Eastern U.S. Time. Come join if you'd like!

And for today's inspiration, let's roar like lions!

10 Tips for Chanting Joyfully
for Longer Times:

From by Jamie Lee Silver -

As always, these are my insights. I'm an enthusiastic SGI member, but I don't represent the SGI in an official capacity in this blog.

1. Give Yourself Some Credit! Go YOU!
Realize that what you are about to do...chanting longer than usual ~ doing a Daimoku Toso has profound significance for your life. Give yourself credit for this worthy goal.

2. Write your goal or goals.
(Some of these goals may occur to you naturally as you're chanting) You may want to write yourself a fresh determination, also called PowerPrayer and connect your desire to the greater the real difference you want to make in the world.

Remember that you are a precious votary of the Lotus Sutra and when you break through, the energy is forever changed. You are paving the way for others to break through ~ Your Happiness is IMPORTANT!

Example of a goal/determination/PowerPrayer:

"I am determined to show actual proof right now! And to have my daimoku spread theoughout the whole world to bring health and eradicate this virus! I will show actual proof with my life, and be able to introduce others to this practice!

President Ikeda's guidance says you can chant to have 10,000 times more power in your prayer. So I usually dedicate some time to chanting to increase the power of my daimoku by 10,000 times!

3. Have your favorite drinks close by.
...tea...water...soft drinks...whatever you like.

4. Remember YOU are the Buddha!
Do not beg favors from a 'higher power." You are the higher power. Remember, the Gohonzon cannot get down off the wall and do the Buddha's work in the world. YOU are the Gohonzon; it is inside your life. The Gohonzon is a reflection of the highest life condition that exists within your own life. So when you are chanting CLAIM what is yours! Tell your life what you want. And know that all real change comes from within.
Chant to do your own Human Revolution.
When we change, our environment changes.
Take responsibility for your life...not blame.
5. Put Your Phone AWAY or turn it off. Yes OFF!

6. Keep Your Favorite Buddhist Study Material Close by
...whatever touches your heart when you read it. And if you find yourself losing focus open it up to any page you want. I have "For Today and Tomorrow" by Daisaku Ikeda next to me right now. Here's a selection:

"When we chant sonorous Daimoku, the sun rises in our hearts. We are filled with power. Compassion wells forth. Our lives are lit with joy. Our wisdom shines. All Buddhas and Buddhist deities throughout the universe go to work on our behalf. Life becomes exhilarating.

7. Invite others to chant with you, even though they may be far away. You can text when you begin and end.

8. Have pen and paper handy.
You'll want to write down those brilliant ideas that come into your mind while you're chanting.

9. Take care of your body
You may want to get up and stretch at the end of every hour. Keep fruit or a snack at hand for an hourly break. Put your electronics away. You are dedicating this time. It takes energy not to dilute it, and it is so important to stay focused!

10. After you chant, write in your journal.

Above all - Don't give up! You CAN change your problems into benefits. You ARE the Buddha! Collectively we are raising the vibration of the entire world.

I'd love to hear from those of you who have connected to the SGI through my blog. And send me your experiences, and I may share it on this blog!

ABC ~ The Three Keys to Strengthening Our Lives Right Now

Ahhhh, let's all take a few deep breaths together...
turn off the TV and put down our phones to chant!

Dear friends, you are always on my mind! I wonder how you're doing...if you're giving in to despair and the fear of our uncertain world, or if you're chanting abundant daimoku and sailing on the wings of faith.

I want to connect with every single one of you, and have a heart to heart chat. I want to offer you encouragement, share Gosho quotes and President Ikeda's guidance, and share my new tool of EFT Tapping that has been a springboard to happiness for me. And now, it's easier to connect than ever. We're all online!

I have begun leading virtual gatherings of people from all around the world. At our last gathering, we had Malaysia, the UK, parts of America, and Italy. I haven't widely promoted these gatherings so they are fairly small and everyone gets a chance to talk. We even have guests!

The next meeting will be Monday Morning, Eastern US time zone 10:00 am (GMT-4) Here's the link:

We'll share faith experiences, encourage guests, share struggles and if you wish, we'll share contact information so we can build friendships across the miles. Please come to this meeting with the goal of having chanted an hour of Daimoku already, with Gongyo done.

What are those three important keys to strengthening our lives in these crucial times? The World Tribune is on fire! The Soka Gakkai is advising the ABC approach:

A: Abundant Daimoku.
I know, sometimes it's hard to do. But see if you can find a Daimoku buddy. I chant every morning from 8:00 am until 9:00 am US Eastern time. Be my Daimoku Buddy! Let's meet in front of the Gohonzon if we can!

At the beginning of this week, it was really hard for me to chant. I know how hard it can be!  Yesterday my son Aaron texted that he was about to chant an hour and I joined him in front of the Gohonzon and chanted to connect with the universe inside there was nothing anywhere but me and the power of the Gohonzon within everything is happening, but the core and focus of my life is my connection to my life itself....the Gohonzon...the Universe! I can only change myself. I can impact how I perceive, how I react, and how I feel. I chanted to change the core of my life from the inside to release the grip of fear. WOW. Of course, what an impact!
Today I did the same.

B: Buddhist Study

To get the most out of study, it helps to chant about it!
I chant to study with my entire life. Buddhist study is like a letter from Nichiren Daishonin, and from Sensei to me. Our guidance is to study at least 20 minutes a day. And when I chant this way and THEN study I FEEL the words, and as I'm reading I'm thinking "These words were written just for me!" Let's studydeeply with our whole lives!

C: Connect Life to Life!

This is why I'm offering meetings. This is why I'm zooming with friends. Especially in these times of physical isolation, we can connect heart to heart and face to face. Let's get to know each other even better! Let's speak with love, listen with love and smile, smile, smile!

You may know I've experienced the deepest tragedy when I lost my son. And through Daimoku and Tapping, I've created a life of boundless happiness and meaning.

If you're suffering from loss or hopelessness and looking for someone to connect with to boost yourself out of sadness, to encourage you and teach you this amazing emotional clearing technique (EFT Tapping) that's worked for me, set up a mini-tapping tune up and get on my calendar. I can only work with a select number and it is a paid program, but the initial conversation is free.

Send me an email at

Love to you, more than ever!
